Dental Hygiene
Our dentists and hygienists firmly believe that prevention is better than cure, and to that end your oral health is at the heart of everything we do.
Our hygienists will educate you and your family in oral hygiene best practices and give you the tools you need to keep your smile healthy for life.
Keeping your oral health in check
Quite often new patients to our practice have never experienced care with a hygienist before. Hygienists work alongside dentists showing patients how to clean around their teeth and gums effectively and removing any hard deposits which the patient cannot remove by simple cleaning. Once the gum health has been secured a low level maintenance programme is often all that is required to prevent future problems. Most of our patients have benefitted from this preventative approach for many years reducing the need for dental treatment.
Treating gum disease
Gum disease describes swelling, soreness or infection of the tissues supporting the teeth. There are two main forms of gum disease: gingivitis and periodontitis. At 3 one one dental care, our team of hygienists together with the dentists will spend time advising you on how to care for your teeth and gums. Each time you are seen a detailed examination of the gums is carried out and gum care tailored to your needs.
